Three Church Road at St George’s Place in Edgbaston is an absolutely gorgeous place to enjoy afternoon tea. This wonderful Georgian building has its own health club, library and restaurant and is the perfect place to relax in style, slow down and enjoy the finer things in life.

This area below is part of the bistro and at the rear of the bar, so comfy and elegant. The bistro is open 12pm to 6pm except on Sundays and serves a nice range of light bites and sandwiches as well as some real classics such as sausage and mash.

If you have seen the movie Get Out you may be very wary of the stag head! Beware of anyone nearby tapping their teacup three times or you may find your afternoon becoming very hypnotic. A really beautiful bar area.

Now to the food. On top, we have delicious raspberry and white chocolate profiteroles with rose macaroons and mini lemon meringue pies. A hat-trick of winners, all flavoursome and moreish. Underneath we enjoyed a tasty carrot cake with a great chocolate and raspberry cake that was refreshing on the palate.

The sandwiches were very traditional with chicken, ham and salmon. We would have loved something such as a mini slider or a filling with spicy vegetables to give a bit more wow factor. We listened to the expert advice of our waitress to be served the scones warm after we had finished eating all the other treats. A lovely creamy and luscious way to finish the tea.

The restaurant at the front of the building is open from 6pm to 9pm everyday except Sundays. Exciting dishes to try include the lobster with garlic butter and the apricot stuffed pork tenderloin.
